Michigan Mine Safety Staff Members Become
Certified Mine Safety Professionals

David Carlson, Director of the Michigan Mine Safety &
Health Training Program, and Senior Staff Instructor Philip J Eggerding recently
sat for and passed the International Society of
Mine Safety Professional's examination for Certified Mine Safety
Professional. C.M.S.P.s are expected not only to have a broad base of knowledge
covering all aspects of Mine Safety, but are held to a high degree of
professional integrity as well. Congratulations on certification!

Ron Gradowski
Ron Gradowski has been a MSHA certified
instructor for 4 years. He was previously an Emergency Response Team member at
Delphi Saginaw Steering Systems. Ron has had extensive training in Firefighting,
Confined Space Rescue, HAZMAT, and First AID-CPR-AED. He is a certified trainer
for the American Heart Association. Ron has also been recognized by the Joseph
A. Holmes Safety Association as a Professional Miner and continues his education
in Mine Safety by attendance at numerous safety conferences.

Philip Eggerding

Philip Eggerding, a Certified Mine Safety
Professional, has worked with Michigan Technological University's
Mine Safety Program since 1987. He got into the mine safety field after being a Certified
Emergency Medical Technician for six years in Ontonagon County, MI. He has had experience
as an Alcoholism & Drug abuse counselor and has worked with Employee Assistance
Programs. He is presently certified as a Mine Safety Instructor and an American
Heart Association First Aid Instructor.
Phil has been to numerous safety related seminars including the Michigan
Safety Conference and the annual Mine Safety Instructor's Conference held at the National
Mine Safety Academy in Beaver, WV.
